Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and a commentator working with NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received an undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell was hired by KYW Radio and TV as the Philadelphia reporter in 1967. She was a reporter for the CBS station WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. A few years later, she was general reporter at NBC News in Washington. 1981 she started covering the White House, and in 1988 she was appointed the Chief Correspondent to Congress. Mitchell was named chief White House correspondent by NBC News in the year 1992. Mitchell hosted and was panelists on the TV program Meet the Press. She was on the panel in the 1988 presidential debates in the debate between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has been awarded numerous times for her journalism achievements, such as an award called the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. She was also honored by the Leonard Zeidenberg Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell covered the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988, during Ronald Reagan's two terms as president. Mitchell covered a number of noteworthy reports over the years, such as the tax reforms, budget reforms, and the Iran Contra affair. She travelled extensively along with Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
